ⓘ Northern Regional Health Authority

The Northern Regional Health Authority is the governing body for healthcare regulation in northern Manitoba, excluding Churchill. It was formed in 2012 by the merger of the former Burntwood Regional Health Authority and the former Nor-Man Health Authority. The NRHA is the largest of the 5 Regional Health Authorities in Manitoba by geographical area, covering nearly two-thirds of the province.

Some of the largest communities that is NRHA are:

  • Norway House. (Норвегия Дом)
  • Grand Rapids. (Гранд-Рапидс)
  • Leaf Rapids. (Лист Рапидс)
  • Thompson. (Томпсон)
  • The Pas.
  • Lynn Lake. (Озеро Линн)
  • Gillam. (Гиллам)

There are more than a dozen additional first Nations communities that NRHA dishes, NRHA challenge is that many of these first Nations communities do not have year-round all-weather entrance, with many of these first Nations communities, relying on rail, sea and / or air services during the journey. This limited access has a significant impact on the health of residents.
